Thursday, March 04, 2004 -- Northern Development and Mines Minister Rick Bartolucci announced today the Ontario government was stopping the previous government’s plans to privatize the ONTC and setting out a bold new course that will bring long-needed sustainability, certainty and openness to current and future planning for the organization. On hand for the announcement were, from left to right: Jeff Puritt, Telus Corporation, Vic Fedeli, North Bay Mayor, Monique Smith, Nipissing MPP, Royal Poulin, ONTC President and CEO, Roy Hains, ONTC vice-president, minister Bartolucci, Ron Marleau, United Steelworkers and Phil Koning, Chair of the General Chairpersons Association.
