CLAC Constitution To all members of Unit 613
CLAC’s constitution indicates principles which they are committed to:
Article 2 – Basis “CLAC bases its policies and actions on the Christian principles of social justice and charitable relationships among people, as taught in the Bible. …” Article 4 – Principles 4.01 Christian social principles are basic guideline for relationships among people. They are based on the teachings of the bible and informed by the history Christian social thought and action …” 4.02 In the workplace, further Christian social principles are the equality of people before God….(1)
Some questions you may have
· What if I am not a Christian? · What if I am a Christian and I am divorced? · What if I am a Christian and I am gay or a lesbian or bisexual or transgendered? · What if I am not a Christian and I am gay or a lesbian or bisexual or transgendered? · What if I do not believe in the teachings of the bible? · What if I believe in another religion or faith? · What if I do not believe in the same God as CLAC? · What if I am a Christian but my Christian views are different from CLAC’s? · What if my social principles are different than CLAC’s social principles? · What if I am an atheist? · Etc, etc, etc…………….
For the record the USW constitution indicates all persons are eligible for membership, appointment, election, or to hold any office, or position, or to serve on any Committee in the International Union or a Local or a Unit, regardless of your religion, faith or a lack thereof.
